HOW TO GET THERE:
(Location Map)

By car:
Mindo is found 84 km (52 miles) west of Quito, on the new highway to the coast: Calacali - La Independencia. Twenty minutes beyond Nanegalito on that road, there is a large sign that clearly indicates the entrance to the town. From there, visitors must descend 7 km (4.3 miles) along a curve-filled road before arriving at the heart of the town. Mindo Garden is found 4 km (2.5 miles) from town along the road to the Mariposario (butterfly house). The inn is practically at the end of the road and thus easily found.

By Bus:
In Quito, you should go to the "Ofelia" bus terminal of the company "Flor del Valle", which has buses to Cayambe and Mindo.
Phone: 252-7435.
During the week, there are two departure times to Mindo: 8:20 A.M. and 4 P.M. On Saturdays, there are four: 7:40 A.M., 8:20 A.M., 9:20 A.M. and 4 P.M., and on Sundays and holidays you will find five buses: 7:40 A.M., 8:20 A.M., 9:20 A.M., 1:45 P.M. and 5 P.M.

Once you have arrived in Mindo, it is a good idea to book your return to Quito a day (or at least a few hours) before you want to board the bus back.
